4" stub out is too long
We bought the 6" danco spout. Our half inch iron pipe with threads on the end, extends exactly 4 inches out from the wall surface. Even reefing as hard as possible on the spout, it will not seat flush to the wall, but is 3/32 of an inch shy of meeting the wall. Instructions with the unit call for a 4 inch stub out, but you will not find that works so well. You want 3 3/4" in reality. There was a trim ring that showed up as one that folks often buy with this spout. DANCO Decorative Metal Tub Spout Remodeling Cover Ring, Chrome, 1-1/2-Inch ID and 3-5/8-Inch OD (10007). You don't want it. The base diameter of the spout is too large to seat down in the central flat part of that trim ring... and the ring has no way to remain centered on the pipe if you set the spout onto the higher outer part of the trim ring, and no way to get a good seal if you do opt to try that. That trim ring is a good fit for the old spout you took off and threw away, no doubt, but no good for this particular danco 6" spout. You will end up using clear silicone to seal around the top of the spout, if you want a good seal to the wall with a 4 inch stub out.

I'm a little teapot...no...I'm a little BATHTUB and here is my spout!
I bought this to replace a 15 year-old spout with a bad diverter and found the initial quality to be quite good considering the cost, but time will tell, of course. My installation was screw-on, and even though I abhor any situation of threading plastic into metal or vice versa, I thought I would to try to save a few bucks by using the included plastic connecting tube. It worked fine when water was coming from the spout, but it leaked (trickled from the opening on the underside) when the diverter was engaged. I checked for leaks on the back end before I attached the spout, so I know the leak was coming from the front. I think the plastic tube is a little short and doesn't thread in quite deep enough, so it might have worked if it was 1/4-in. to 1/2-in. longer. No biggie. I just did as I originally planned and used brass pipe. I had a little trouble figuring out what size of pipe I needed because the old pipe was hopelessly fused inside the old tub spout and the position of the female threads inside the new spout were different. Once I obtained the correct size pipe, it was good to go with no leaks. The water gushes out as I expected with no fan-like spraying that others had mentioned, and the divereter works perfectly with absolutely no water coming from the spout when engaged, so the wife and I are finally enjoying full power showers. Time will tell if this was a good purchase, but the old spout didn't appear to be any higher quality than this, so I imagine we'll get enough usage to justify the $14.00 cost.

Didn’t work for older plumbing
It didn’t fit on my older (1960’s) plumbing. It looks good

looks good but installation is TORTURE!
I ended up using the slip on method for my fitting. I watched the video and read the instructions. Video made it look easy so I thought this will be a piece of cake. How wrong I was! The problem I soon found out was how to tighten the extension to the adapter. Instruction says to align the hole to the slot. Well how do you do that when the hole is not a hole until you break it in a much later step. I even took the whole assembly out and tried it outside so I could see if the hole & the slot align. You can't even tell if they do. It's even worse when you put it on the pipe because when you started tightening the extension it rotated both the adapter & extension and now the hole & the slot were unaligned. So after 30 mins of unsuccessful attempts I decided to puncture the hole so I can see the slot underneath. Well that's when it went from bad to worse. I could now tighten the screw to the slot and onto the pipe. I followed instructions to tighten 1 full turn but that's not tight enough because when I put the spout on the whole thing rotated loosely. So I decided to take the spout out but the problem was it rotated the entire assembly instead of just the spout so when I turned counter clockwise to remove the spout, the adapter & extension rotated with it, not just the spout. I kept turning and then realized the screw that touched the pipe is now eating into the pipe as I turned. Now I have a 3" of pipe with grooves. It's just horrible. I ended up cutting that 3", put on a sleeve, and solder on a new 3" with a threaded end. Since now it's 4" I just used the last method to install it directly without the slip joint. I read another reviewer with similar problem and he ended up throwing away the slip joint and just attach it directly to the pipe. This method is better since many reviews had issue with leaking using the slip joint method. This should have been 10 mins installation but it turned out to be 4 hours.

Super easy to install, and came with everything I needed
I am not a home repair guru by any means, and I had initially purchased a bathtub faucet spout that wouldn't work for the tub. I was also mildly irritated that the initial purchase did not come with everything I needed (like 'tape' for the screw-on parts.) I ordered this one instead, and was very happy with the easy-to-follow instructions and that I had everything I needed right in front me (so as to avoid a trip to a hardware store -- avoiding a trip was the reason I purchased through Amazon in the first place.) It was easy to install (took me about 10 minutes max) and it works great. No complaints, and I would buy again from this company specifically because they included the necessary extra pieces.

The inside did not workbproperly
Product decent but the inside part was not out together right and caused a water leak that went into our ceiling below causing damage. Had to use an old part to fix it.

Not the quality I expected
This product is brushed nickel but looks nothing like the brushed nickel we already have. It appears very cheap looking. Would have returned it if we didn't need it so badly at the time.
